The principle of homeopathy is “like cures like”, which means a remedy cures a disease that causes similar symptoms created by the remedy. For example, headache can be treated with a remedy that can cause headache in normal people.
Homeopathy has been developed more than 200 years ago. It was created by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann who was a medical doctor in Germany. He invented homeopathy to treat patients more effectively than conventional medicine at that time.
Homeopathic remedies can be available in oral droplets/pellets, syrup, cream and ointment form. I prefer pellets form for oral intake because they are easy for patient to take. However, the pellets may contain lactose, therefore patient need to watch the sensitivity if they have lactose intolerance.
Follow up visits are always needed to make dose adjustment, or reassessment of the symptoms after the first treatment.
To get a right remedy for right disease, thorough homeopathic intake, which usually takes about one hour, is needed in the initial visit. Then the patient will be suggested a homeopathic remedy in the next visit. Usually a follow up visit is needed in a week or two to reassess the symptoms.
